Alicia Allman, PA, is convinced the StarMed Family & Urgent Care clinic in east Charlotte is in a perfect location.

The clinic, at 5344 Central Ave., offers primary care services and a wide range of urgent care services for any non-life-threatening ailment. Patients of all ages can be treated.
Allman is a Charlotte native who was raised in a Honduran household. She can speak, read, and write in Spanish. That helps when she’s communicating with patients, and often prevents confusion or uncertainty. The clinic is in a predominantly Spanish-speaking area.
Walk-in patients are welcome, and Allman said almost every patient can be seen the same day.

StarMed’s clinic also provides examinations for anyone needing Department of Transportation certification in order to obtain a license to drive a commercial motor vehicle (CMV). The DOT exams are available Mondays through Fridays only (no weekends).
The clinic continues to offer COVID-19 vaccinations and testing. It’s an important step in decreasing the effects of the pandemic. There is no cost to you to get vaccinated, with or without insurance.
Allman stresses that getting vaccinated is a worthwhile step in the battle against the COVID-19 virus.
“We have always put an emphasis on preventative medicine,” she said. “It is so much easier to prevent a serious illness than to hope you can make it through a severe illness because you didn’t get the vaccine. The vaccine isn’t something to be afraid of, it’s something to be grateful for.”
“We’ve always used vaccines to prevent suffering. The COVID-19 vaccination is preventing illness, suffering and death. That’s very important.”
