Full Job Description
StarMed Healthcare is currently hiring for a Medical Scribe to assist our Chief Medical Officer with Telemed and inpatient visits. The Medical Scribe will work under the Chief Medical Officer to assist with documentation and transcribe patient orders. The Medical Scribe would be detail oriented and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with enthusiasm.
Responsibilities
- Assist physician with patients in order to transcribe and document accurately the physician’s encounter with the patient and others present.
- List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician.
- Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
- Document any procedures performed by the Chief Medical Officer/physician.
- Our Chief Medical Officer travels between clinics, and is sometimes not here on some weeks. In the event of this, the Scribe will either work down at StarMed, or help assist with data entry.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to document patient care as dictated by a physician in a legible and clear manner, following all local, state, and federal guidelines for documentation.
- Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy in accordance with governing HIPAA regulations.
- Demonstrate organizational ability to maintain and coordinate multiple forms and paper documentation related to patient care.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Excellent and legible penmanship
- Minimum 60 words per minute typing
- Bilingual/Fluent in Spanish (preferred)
- Ability to multi-task and consistently communicate in a professional manner
- Punctuality and preparedness for all shifts and work-related activities
- Professional appearance is required. Must comply with dress code
- Must be able to work outside

- 8AM-6PM
Work Location(s)
- This position may include traveling to COVID-19 drive thru testing sites to assist the Chief Medical Officer on-site.
