News coverage of Hurricane Ian may have slowed, but hundreds of thousands of Florida residents are still struggling in the aftermath.
Ian made landfall as a Category 4 storm, with winds of 150 mph along Florida’s west coast. It brought torrential rain, flooding, and record storm surges in Fort Myers and Naples. More than 2 million people were left without power and thousands still haven’t been able to go home as a result.
While it can feel overwhelming to think about the damage and hardship crises like these cause… “All of those poor people. How could I possibly make a difference?”…you can make a difference with a simple donation of everyday items.
Our full-service disaster response team, North Rapid Response, is currently collecting donated items to aid Florida victims of Hurricane Ian.
The response team will accept items at StarMed Healthcare and Keith Clinic Estramonte Chiropractic clinics and deliver them to those who are most in need.
And when we say everyday items, we mean it.
Here’s what we’re collecting for the hurricane victims:
- Water
- Paper towels
- Nonperishable food items
- Razors, shampoo, and body wash
- Towels
- Food gift cards
- Baby food/formula and baby diapers
- Hygiene items
- Toothpaste and toothbrushes
- Gloves
- Trash bags
- Cleaning supplies
- Bug spray
Please note that we cannot accept monetary donations of any kind at StarMed or Keith clinics.
But these simple household items will do more good than you might realize.
“We are eager to provide aid to the thousands of people in Florida who are rebuilding their lives after the devastation. Our hearts truly go out to them. We’re part of a community that is willing to help those in need, and our North Rapid Response team will ensure that these donated items will be delivered in a timely manner.”
Starmount President & Founder Michael Estramonte
